Our new space is mindfully created to inspire feelings of comfort and peace with intention to cultivate connection. We provide a clean child friendly waiting area, equipped with a children’s play area, wellness magazines, and complementary hot and cold beverages. We have complimentary Wi-Fi and inspirational books to accompany you while you wait for your clinician or loved one in session. We welcome people of all age ranges and walks of life.
With our new home, come new offerings. We are now going to be offering dynamic therapies such as group, play and art therapies.
Our Playroom has a plethora of toys and games for children to enhance socioemotional skills. We have mindfully created this space to ensure that kids feel comfortable to connect and create joyful experiences for optimal learning. According to Clinical Research, “Play is the child's natural medium for self-expression and offers a nonverbal avenue for helping children to solve their problems and develop mastery over different aspects of their external and internal environment, including their emotions” (Landreth, 2012). Play Therapy can be beneficial for children with all different needs. This can include children who have experienced emotional abuse, who have developmental delays, or who experience emotional or behavioral challenges.
Our Art Room is a welcoming space for clients to discover their internal world and create tangible artwork that they can take home and enjoy. Art and creative therapies can be useful tools when approaching difficult topics. “Creative activities can relieve stress, aid communication, and help arrest cognitive decline”, as stated by Harvard Health. This space is beneficial for all ages, as the art can be used as an alternative medium for communicating one’s thoughts, feelings, concerns, or dreams.
We will be offering a variety of Group Therapies, which provide a safe communal space to tackle difficult topics. According to the American Psychological Association one of the major benefits include, “Regularly talking and listening to others also helps you put your own problems in perspective. Many people experience mental health difficulties, but few speak openly about them to people they don't know well. Oftentimes, you may feel like you are the only one struggling — but you're not. It can be a relief to hear others discuss what they're going through and realize you're not alone.” Some of our Group Therapy topics include, Anxiety Management, Self-Esteem, Parenting Support, Boundary Reset, Relationship Bootcamp, Emotional Intelligence, and Survivors of Trauma. Our Group Therapies operate on a closed therapy setting, where up to 10 participants will embark on an intentional healing journey together.
We hope that everyone will enjoy and benefit from these accommodations which Wildflower now offers. We are so excited to share our space with you. Welcome home!
