Hi – I’m Lisa, a licensed clinical social worker. As a recent transplant, I’m so excited to call Mt. Pleasant home. Originally from California, I’ve spent the last 20+ years in Maryland where my husband and I raised two wonderful sons and where I was able to channel my passion for helping others into this amazing profession. I have always been drawn to the complexities of the human mind and the beauty of the human experience, even with all its challenges. It’s only through challenges that we grow.

Prior to my move, I worked in a domestic violence shelter, a college counseling center, and an outpatient setting. These experiences afforded me the opportunity to work with a diverse clientele and a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, domestic violence, PTSD, relationship and family conflicts, life transitions, and couples therapy.

I believe in creating a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, empathy, and acceptance. I meet each client with curiosity and the perspective that they are the expert on their life. Each person is unique; therefore, each situation is unique. This is why I take an eclectic, insight-oriented, person-centered approach utilizing various modalities. I bring this same individual approach into my couples' work since we all bring our personal baggage into our relationships. My role as a therapist is to help you develop insight into toxic patterns, recognize your innate strengths, and empower you to make healthy changes and learn how to live your authentic best life. I hope you’ll give me the privilege of joining you on the journey.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time outdoors in the beautiful southern weather, either kayaking with my husband, walking our two Akitas, or exploring local restaurants. We also travel when we can and enjoy watching UofSC football, baseball, lax, etc… Go Gamecocks!
