Hi there! I’m Devin, a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW-CP) in the state of South Carolina. Originally from Arkansas, I spent over a decade in New York completing my education and establishing a career in the mental health field. Now a Charleston resident, I’m excited to provide counseling and support to the Lowcountry, helping people to lead happier, more fulfilling lives.

I work with both children and adults and specialize in anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, and trauma. I also have experience addressing sexual health and sexuality/gender identity concerns and welcome anyone who may need support in managing their identity(ies). Therapy with me will always be grounded in the idea of client-centered treatment - you are the expert of your own situation and are deserving of support, compassion, and happiness. I believe that unconditional positive regard, authenticity, and an empathetic understanding are critical to working successfully together.

In treatment, I focus on creating a safe space for you to explore your thoughts as we build a trusting foundation together. My therapeutic approach uses both cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic therapies - in other words, I specialize in combining directive, task-focused treatment with the flexibility of free-form sessions. I strive to help you gain better control of the now – your symptoms, unhelpful behaviors, and distress – while deepening your understanding of the past.

 

Outside of the office, I love cooking and baking, enjoying books on the beach, and spending time with my family and two tuxedo cats (Cornelius and Barnaby). Can't wait to meet you!
