Hi! My name is Catherine, and I am Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina.  

 

In my role as a counselor, I have worked with adolescents and adults who have experienced a variety of mental health and substance use issues.  My areas of focus include depression, anxiety, addiction, stress, life transitions, low self-esteem, difficult relationship dynamics, and grief and loss. I have experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Positive Psychology, Person-Centered Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy strategies to help clients understand how past experiences, thoughts patterns, and belief systems have impacted their life.

 

My goal as a therapist is to create a safe and comfortable environment. Through doing this I hope to allow clients to discuss their thoughts and feelings openly, ultimately assisting them to form new connections and utilize healthier coping skills to improve upon their overall well-being.  I am a compassionate and approachable counselor who is motivated to guide individuals throughout the therapy process by listening and providing education on new coping skills so they can improve their quality of life. I believe that the client is the expert in their own life, and I enjoy being able to collaborate with clients to help them achieve their goals and discover who they are as an individual. 

 

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going to the beach, reading, and traveling.  Also, I enjoy going to concerts and watching college football games. Go Tigers!
