Meet the Clinicians - Jim Overby

Hi, my name is Jim Overby. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina. I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and made my way to Greenville, South Carolina, in 2019. Currently, I live in the beautiful upstate area with my wife and stepdaughter. My family and I enjoy walking in nature and exploring the area where we live. I enjoy working with clients as they confront avoidance and start living the lives they desire. The best evidence we have has shown the importance of a good therapeutic relationship in overall therapy outcomes. I love connecting with my clients and building a great relationship with them, so I hope we can build a great relationship when we meet.

To be sure, life has many challenges, and many of us respond to those challenges in ways that are not consistent with our values. Many times, these responses cause life not to be as enjoyable as we would like. Whether our challenges stem from trauma, anxiety, adjustment issues, depression, or some unknown causes, these challenges do not need to prevent us from living the life we desire.
